|The Political and Business Daily
FOR the 11th consecutive year, the Jindal Foundation, the CSR arm of Jindal Steel & Power, has continued its noble tradition of serving devotees during the world-famous Rath Yatra in Puri.
This year, the Foundation has already served over 10 lakh freshly cooked, nutritious meals and aims to serve more than 20 lakh meals by the conclusion of the festival on the auspicious day of Sunabesha.
To facilitate large-scale food distribution, the Foundation has set up two strategically located mega stalls one near Puri Railway Station and another near the bus stand adjacent to the Gundicha Temple ensuring easy access for a vast number of devotees.
The meals, comprising traditional Odia fare rice, dalma (a lentil-based preparation), and khata (a sweet and tangy chutney) offer both nutritional value and a taste of local culture. Prepared and served with the highest standards of hygiene, the initiative reflects the sanctity and spirit of the sacred event.
