ECOR GM inspects Sonepur-Purunakatak Railway Section of Khurda Road-Balangir Rail Line Project

IN a significant development for one of Odisha’s most critical infrastructure projects, Parmeshwar Funkwal, General Manager of East Coast Railway (ECOR), conducted a comprehensive inspection of the under-construction Sonepur-Purunakatak section of the Khurda Road-Balangir new railway line.
Accompanied by senior officials from ECOR headquarters, the Sambalpur Railway Division, and construction teams, the GM's visit focused on assessing project progress, ensuring adherence to deadlines, and maintaining high standards of quality and safety. During the inspection, Funkwal emphasized the need for timely execution, urging officials to accelerate pending works without compromising on key parameters.
The Sonepur-Purunakatak section has already been completed, marking a major milestone that is expected to significantly enhance regional connectivity and boost economic prospects across western Odisha.
