DAV Vedanta International School: Catalysing Education in Kalahandi

Since Vedanta established its alumina refinery, a quiet revolution has taken root. A cornerstone of this development is the DAV Vedanta International School the district's first English medium school.

Back in 2006, when the school opened its doors, the vision was simple: education is the bedrock of progress. In a tribal region like Kalahandi, the need extended beyond classrooms; it was about building bridges to the wider world. From early childhood to senior secondary, the school became a nurturing space, where dormant dreams began to stir.

With over 1300 students, 83% from the surrounding communities, the school is empowering the next generation. Many of the students are first-generation learners, entering a world filled with computer labs and science experiments. Equipped with smart class rooms and a library filled with sto-

ries, the school elevated education in the remote district.
