THE Minister of Labour and Employees’ State Insurance and Chairman of the Board Ganesh Ram Sing Khuntia said that without a labour force, prosperity is impossible.

Workers are an important part of our country, they are the foundation of the country, the backbone of nation building, and the real nation builders. The country cannot progress by neglecting them. The glory of labour is achieved only by giving dignity to the workers, he said while addressing the third meeting of the Odisha Labour Welfare Board held at the departmental conference room in Kharavela Bhawan here today.
Stating that Odisha is a labour-rich state and the role of the labour force is very important in the economic and overall progress of Odisha, the Minister SinghKhuntia said, “The state government is working on the basis of the ideology of service, dedication and good governance. Emphasis is being placed on ensuring that all government facilities and government schemes are easily accessible to the person standing at the end of the queue in the society. The present state government is a sensitive government for the poor and workers.” He advised the departmental officers to take appropriate steps to solve the problems of lakhs of working brothers and sisters of Odisha in the real field and to continue their sincere and continuous efforts towards their overall development and legal and social security and rights.
