BSCL will be a lighthouse for other aspiring cities in Odisha: Usha Padhee

“BHUBANESWAR Smart City Limited (BSCL) will be a replica for other cities of Odisha — a lighthouse to other aspiring cities,” said Usha Padhee, Principal Secretary, Housing & Urban Development Department, while chairing the 3rd meeting of the Empowered Committee on Asset Management of BSCL at Kharavel Bhavan on Saturday.

The meeting was convened in the context of the upcoming closure of the Smart Cities Mission by March 31, 2025. It focused on strategizing the long-term management, maintenance, and monetization of the extensive urban infrastructure developed under the mission in Bhubaneswar.

Padhee emphasized the significance of BSCL’s achievements and underlined the urgency of creating a robust asset management framework that ensures the sustainability of these smart assets. “BSCL must now transition from project implementation to long-term sustainability and operational efficiency,” she added.
