US President Donald Trump has been angling for a peace prize and FIFA delivered during Friday's 2026 World Cup draw in Washington.

The soccer governing body announced during the event that Trump was being awarded the inaugural FIFA Peace Prize.
“This is truly one of the great honors of my life,” Trump said.
Trump was recently passed over for the Nobel Peace Prize, the most prestigious award of its kind.
FIFA announced the formation of its peace prize last month “to reward individuals who have taken exceptional and extraordinary actions for peace and by doing so have united people across the world.”
