Vice Gov. Athena Bryana Tolentino is now governor of Cavite following the appointment by President Marcos of Jonvic Remulla as secretary of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG).

Tolentino took her oath before a judge in Tagaytay City yesterday. She won the vice gubernatorial race during the 2022 general elections and assumed office on June 30 of the same year. She was councilor of Tagaytay from 201
