Search Continues for Capsized Vessel's Crewmembers in Northern Samar

A search and rescue operation is ongoing for five crewmembers of a cargo vessel that reportedly sank in the waters off Lavesares town in Northern Samar on Monday, according to the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG).

Meanwhile, in Zambales, a similar operation is being conducted for two of three fishermen, whose motorized boat capsized in the waters off Subic on Sunday.

In a post on social media, PCG Station Northern Samar acting chief Ensign Bryhl Amay said the MV Jerlyn Khatness had 15 officers and crewmembers on board when it sank near Barangay Balicuatro at around 2:30 p.m.

Of the 15 people onboard, 10 have been rescued while five remained missing.
