Sandigan defers promulgation of judgment vs Enrile, Reyes, Napoles

The Sandiganbayan has deferred the promulgation of judgment on the 15 counts of graft against former senator now presidential legal counsel Juan Ponce Enrile, his former chief of staff Jessica Lucila Reyes and detained businesswoman Janet Lim Napoles, saying that the decision requires "further deliberation."
Reading a prepared statement during the scheduled promulgation of judgment yesterday morning, lawyer Dennis Pulma, the clerk of court of the Sandiganbayan Third Division, said one of the members of the Special Third Division, which is handling the cases, recently submitted a "reflection" paper.
Pulma said that with the approval of Sandiganbayan Presiding Justice and Third Division chairperson Geraldine Faith Econg, the court opted to defer handing out its judgment until after deliberating on the reflection of one of its members.
The promulgation of judgment was reset to Oct. 24.
