LPA, Monsoon Forecast to Dump Heavy Rain

A low-pressure area (LPA) off Camarines Norte and the southwest monsoon are expected to bring widespread rains across the country, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said yesterday.

As of 3 p.m., the LPA was estimated over the coastal waters of Mercedes, Camarines Norte. The weather disturbance, along with the southwest monsoon, will affect large parts of Luzon, the Visayas and Mindanao in the next 24 hours.

PAGASA said Metro Manila, Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon, CALABARZON, Camarines Norte and Camarines Sur will experience cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the LPA.

LPA From Page 1 The southwest monsoon will also bring scattered rains and thunderstorms over the Visayas, Mimaropa, Zamboanga Peninsula, Northern Mindanao, Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, Soccsksargen and the rest of the Bicol Region.

The rest of Mindanao may experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rains or thunderstorms.
