When singers record a song in a studio and perform it on stage, they come not only as interpreters but also as storytellers.

GMA Playlist artists see themselves as storytellers

They take it upon themselves to convey the emotions embedded in the lyrics and the music.

GMA Playlist artists Kim Perez, Kim De Leon, Mitzi Josh and John Rex are on the same page with this.

"I think being a storyteller is not just singing the song, not just performing, but being able to relay the message to the audience," said John in a recent media call for the release of his latest single, Kahit Wala Nang Tayo, and the debut song, Huling Hinto, of Perez, as well as the ditties Ikaw Na Lang Ang Kulang and Atin ang Mundo, by Mitzi and De Leon. The latter has also released Dito Lang.

Atin ang Mundo, a collaboration between Kim and Seb Pajarillo; Ikaw Na Lang Ang Kulang; and Basta't Magkasama Tayo, featuring De Leon, Seb and Mitzi are the songs for the GMA values campaign "Ganito Tayo, Kapuso: Masayahin." It is told in the short film titled "G.G.," where viewers can listen to the songs of De Leon, Seb and Mitzi and was produced, along with six other shorts, for the 75th anniversary celebration of the Kapuso network.
