Gaming firm backs BSP's tighter rules on online gambling

Gaming technology company DFNN Inc. is backing the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP)'s move to tighten rules on online gambling payments, but warned of potential threats that certain restrictions may bring to the industry.

DFNN president and CEO Ricardo Banaag told The STAR that while existing regulations on online gaming are already stringent, the company is prepared to support additional measures.

Should the proposed BSP framework be implemented, Banaag said that IT solutions provider and DFNN subsidiary Inter-active Entertainment Solutions Technologies Inc. (IEST) would support it as part of the company's ongoing efforts to ensure compliance, promote responsible gaming and align with national financial and consumer protection standards.

IEST, as the owner and operator of multiple gaming licenses, provides betting and gaming technologies. The licenses allow the company to create and supply a proprietary system and technology platform inside partnered gaming outlets.
