DICT to spend P1.28 B for e-learning project

The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) plans to spend up to P1.28 billion for the upgrade of connectivity tools for online learning in public schools.
Based on its invitation to bid, DICT is looking for a supplier of connectivity tools that public schools can use for their electronic learning.
The contract costs as much as P1.28 billion, which the DICT is financing through a fund transfer from the Department of Education (DepEd).
DICT is allocating P699.45 million for 2,636 public schools in Luzon. Further, it is spending P439.64 million for 1,654 schools in Visayas and P136.67 million for 508 institutions in Mindanao.
