Dawn Chang's greatest miracle in life is finding her father
December 01, 2025
|The Philippine Star
Dawn Chang's search for her biological father could make a compelling plot for a screenplay or a book.
Sometime in 2011, shortly after landing a job as a parade dancer at Hong Kong Disneyland and while she was in Australia, she began searching for her father's name on Google.
"I was directed to LinkedIn Australia. I was 21 or 22 at that time. So, pinili ko yung 40-plus (age) pataas. Three of them replied to my query," she recalled to The STAR in an interview for TV5's dating show, "Love On The Clock," where she is one of the hosts. "But the others stopped responding when I said I was looking for my father, except for one."
She did it "out of boredom." "I never really met my father. So, I don't feel any longing because I have no idea who he was. I'm just curious," said she.
Dawn mentioned her name and her mother's in an email to him and said, "If these names are familiar, let me know."
The man replied, "Neither your name nor your mother's is familiar. But we have the same surname. So, maybe we have a connection along the way. Who's your father?"
