CA approves appointments of housing, DFA chiefs

The Commission on Appointments (CA) yesterday confirmed the ad interim appointments of Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development Secretary Jose Ramon Aliling and Department of Foreign Affairs Secretary Ma. Theresa Lazaro.
Aliling and Lazaro attended the CA hearings and were approved at both the committee and plenary levels.
Lazaro was cited for her role in talks with Beijing during the China-Philippines Bilateral Consultation Mechanism amid the West Philippine Sea dispute.
Aliling, meanwhile, vowed to improve efforts in reducing the housing backlog.
