BBM wants to be 'on the right side of history'
September 12, 2025
|The Philippine Star
President Marcos, whose parents ruled the country under a conjugal dictatorship, yesterday cited the need to be "on the right side of history" as the government grapples with corruption in infrastructure projects nationwide.
In a speech during the 108th birth anniversary of his late father and namesake, Marcos said every act "must be motivated by a true commitment to service" and "driven by a true love of every single Filipino and a love for the Republic of the Philippines."
The elder Marcos' 20-year presidency ended when he was ousted in the 1986 EDSA people power revolution, forcing his family to live in exile in Hawaii.
Marcos supporters have described the late dictator's presidency as a "golden age," citing infrastructure projects, among others.
