KASHMIR SHUTS AGAINST TOURIST KILLINGS, 1ST SHUTDOWN IN 35 YRS AGAINST MASSACRE CARRIED OUT BY TERRORISTS IN THE VALLEY
THE Kashmir Valley on Wednesday observed a total shutdown to protest the deadly terror attack on tourists in Pahalgam in what is being seen as the biggest strike on civilians in recent years.
The terror strike killed 26 people, including a local, in Pahalgam tourist resort's Baisaran meadow, known as mini-Switzerland, on Tuesday. Outraged organisations from all walks of life supported the bandh call, which happened for the first time in 35 years since terrorism erupted in Jammu and Kashmir in 1990. Earlier, shutdowns had been enforced by terror groups and separatists.
