U'Khand unemployment crisis: 21K applications for 24 home guard posts

MORE than 21,000 candidates, many of them postgraduates, have applied for only 24 home guard instructor posts in Uttarakhand, officials said, which spotlights the unemployment crisis in the hill state.
A Class 12 pass is eligible to apply for the post. "Among the applicants are M Tech, M Sc, M Com and B Sc degree holders as well as graduates and postgraduates from other streams," said an official involved in the recruitment process.
"The number of applicants who have completed only Class 12 is minimal," the official added.
