Traversing technology to reach connoisseurs

THE December music season in Chennai every year, ushers in a period where each sabha gets into its most active phase. That may be a common observation. For Mudhra, there seems to be a plausible difference. An organisation founded in 1995, had taken a technological leap, unforeseen in the history of music. In this creative exercise, Mudhra, devoted to the arts per se, has been supported in no small measure by the indefatigable Nalli Kuppusamy Chetti, a prominent industrialist, a liberal philanthropist, who has been ever and anon, the main sponsor of events relating to Carnatic music.

Mudhra had studied well the use of technology in music and for music and for rasikas together, with the trends in the audience pattern and response. That the audience attendance was dwindling since 2013, seized the minds of Mudra Bhaskar and his wife Radha Bhaskar. This led to a happy marriage between technological development and music and the accompanying arts like drama and lecture demonstrations. Mudhra has Nalli as its president and Bhaskar as its techno-savvy secretary and Radha holds the treasurer post.
