Maha murder ignites political war

THE murder of former minister Baba Siddique has triggered a political slugfest ahead of the state Assembly polls with the Opposition demanding resignation of home minister Devendra Fadnavis. Several opposition parties allege that gangland killings are back in Maharashtra.

Former Union minister and NCP leader Sharad Pawar alleged the collapse of law and order in the state. In a social media post, he alleged the state home minister was not serious in handling law and order, which is a cause for concern. "Besides a proper investigation, the home minister should take the responsibility and step down from his ministerial position," Pawar said.
