Army Col, son assaulted by Punjab cops, 12 suspended

A serving army Colonel and his son were allegedly assaulted by Punjab Police personnel in Patiala in the wee hours of March 14 over a parking dispute.
The incident, caught on CCTV, left the Colonel with a fractured arm and his son with severe head injuries.
Following an outrage over the incident, Punjab Police on Monday suspended 12 policemen, including three inspectors, and ordered a departmental probe against them.
