7 critical defence, aerospace projects for private sector okayed by Centre

TO raise the private sector's contribution in defence and aerospace manufacturing, the government on Thursday decided to sanction seven new projects under the Technology Development Fund (TDF) scheme.
The move is part of a larger plan to reduce the country's dependence on defence imports and help nurture MSMES & startups.
The sanctioned projects include the Indigenous Scenario and Sensor Simulation Toolkit, Underwater Launched Unmanned Aerial Vehicle, Longrange Remotely Operated Vehicles for Detection & Neutralisation and Development of Indian Regional Navigation Satellite System-based Timing Acquisition & Dissemination System.The other three projects include Development of Ice Detection Sensor for Aircraft, Development of Radar Signal Processor with Active Antenna Array Simulator and Development of Graphene Based Smart & E-textiles for Multifunctional Wearable Applications.
