Ramnad farmers slam ONGC's oil exploration bid

FARMER associations in Ramanathapuram have strongly opposed the proposed Oil and Natural Gas Corporation's (ONGC) onshore hydrocarbon exploration project, citing that it would cause severe damage to agriculture and the livelihoods of the region's residents.
They submitted petitions seeking immediate withdrawal of the environmental clearance granted for the project.
