'Contract staff employed by Vellore corporation creating trouble, says female staff in plaint to SP
A 56-year-old female conservancy worker from an SC community has lodged a complaint against her supervisor for alleged caste discrimination. She filed the complaint against her supervisor, Kuppan, employed on a contract basis by the Vellore Corporation, with the Superintendent of Police nearly 10 days ago and submitted a petition to Collector V R Subbulaxmi this past Monday.
Speaking to TNIE, she said she is officially tasked with segregating garbage during her working hours from 8 am to 5 pm, earning ₹400 per day. She alleged that the supervisor, however, assigns her additional strenuous tasks outside her prescribed duties.
