Wildlife at risk as Dokkalamadugu water source dries up

FOR the first time in history, the Dokkalamadugu water source beneath Dokkalakonda in the Ganganapalle Reserve forest of the Seshachalam-Nallamala forest range has completely dried up, raising serious concerns for the survival of wildlife in the region.
Renowned writer and historian Bommishetty Ramesh from Mydukur explained about the alarming development. Interacting with media persons here on Friday, he said, Dokkalamadugu has served as a vital lifeline for wild animals. While the water levels were abundant in January, they began to decline in February and had completely dried up by March
