CMC project stalled amid land acquisition hurdles

With the expectation that Udupi CMC will be upgraded into a city corporation, the need for modern infrastructure is on high demand from citizens.
The plan to construct a new building for the Udupi City Municipal Council (CMC) however has hit a delay. The proposed building was expected to come up on a 96-cent land already identified for the project three years ago. This land is near the old taluk office structure, which has been already demolished to pave the way for the new building.
However, officials concerned have now decided to seek an extra 20 cents of land adjacent to the site to enhance accessibility, ensure sufficient parking and accommodate future needs.
