Pleas seeking vacating of stay on filing suits under Places of Worship Act

A fresh batch of petitions has been filed before the Supreme Court, seeking the vacation of its earlier order that stayed the filing of new suits against places of worship and the conducting of surveys in pending mandir-masjid cases.
The pleas have been filed by various people challenging the SC's December 12 order, which said that no orders would be passed by any court on places of worship until the case is heard again after four weeks. The petitions seek modification of this order. The matter is scheduled for a hearing on February 17.
