SAMBA and thaladi paddy cultivation taken up on about 10,000 hectares in the coastal delta region have come under water following the heavy rains last week, say official sources.
According to agriculture department officials in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry, 3,500 hectares of the seasonal cultivation have been inundated in Nagapattinam, 4,000 hectares in Mayiladuthurai and 2,500 hectares in Puducherry's Karaikal during the rains that lashed the region dur
