FUL mountains and lush fields greeted a group of students who journeyed through the rugged paths of the Oromia region in Ethiopia on their field trip. Navigating the rustic village pathways and narrow gorges, the group paused and contemplated the scene. The sight of an elderly woman struggling to cross a gushing river spurred the students into action. Some sought solutions, others appealed to the government, but the lack of a bridge seemed insurmountable. They gave up, deciding to find a way around it. However, Kannan, their professor, decided he would not leave without providing a solution.
