The case rocked the state and led to a 22,000-page charge sheet filed at the Ahmedabad Rural Court against seven arrested accused. The CID Crime later submitted a supplementary charge sheet, implicating the scam mastermind, Bhupendrasinh Jhala, CEO of BZ Group, in the fraud.

Responding to Congress MLA Jignesh Mevani's query, the government revealed that 16 individuals had been charged with crimes as of January 31.
