Reminiscing an Eventful Life Devoted to Public Service

When I decided to write about Kerala's beloved Oommen Chandy, a question that might arise in the minds of those who knew him closely surfaced in me also: Where should I begin?

Oommen Chandy was a man who led a long and eventful public life—something an ordinary person can never hope to achieve under normal circumstances.

Many people have worked with him for years. Yet, for some who loved him dearly, the total time spent interacting with him might only amount to a few hours. Some might have met him only once, for barely a minute. Still, the impact he made on all of them was equally deep. An order signed in just two seconds for someone standing in front of him might have completely changed that person's life. A five-second phone call might have opened up a whole new future for another.
