Set ACs at 24°C, BEE Urges AP Residents to Conserve Energy

THE Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE), under the Union Ministry of Power, has launched an awareness campaign urging Andhra Pradesh residents and commercial establishments to set air conditioners to 24°C.
The campaign, supported by the Andhra Pradesh State Energy Conservation Mission (AP SECM), aims to optimise comfort, reduce electricity consumption, and promote environmental sustainability across the State.
According to the BEE estimates, raising the AC temperature by one degree Celsius can save up to 6% in electricity, with a 24°C setting potentially cutting consumption by 24% compared to 20°C.
