13 of 27 YSRCP councillors, including municipal chairman, join JSP
JANA SENA PARTY (JSP) has intensified efforts to take control of Nidadavolu municipality in East Godavari district after 13 of the 27 YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) councillors, including municipal chairperson Bhupati Adinarayana, shifted loyalties to JSP. However, the question of allowing a no-confidence motion in the municipal council is currently under the District Collector P Prasanthi's consideration.
According to municipal law, the Collector must convene a council meeting for the motion within 30 days of receiving notice from members. Councillor Kamisetty Venkata Satyanarayana and other YSRCP councillors served the notice to the Kovvur RDO and Collector Prasanthi on March 20.
