KIDAMBI Srikanth's long-standing struggles are well-documented. Currently ranked as low as World No. 65, the shuttler from Andhra Pradesh has largely been a pale shadow of his former self. So much so that now he has been forced to start from the qualifying phase (due to his unfavourable world ranking) in a couple of events on BWF World Tour so far this year.
That was the case in the recent Thailand Open, where he fell in the second hurdle of the qualification phase. That is the case at the ongoing Malaysia Masters as well. From an Indian perspective, Srikanth would be one of the last persons that would spring to mind while discussing potential challengers for the top prize at the Super 500 event in Bukit Jalil.
