MHA Writes to States About Emergency Procurement

In the wake of prevailing tensions between India and Pakistan and the threat of hostile acts, the Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) on Friday sent a letter to the states and Union Territories (UTs) asking them to invoke emergency powers under the Civil Defence Act and Rules, 1968 for the efficient implementation of necessary precautionary measures.

In the letter, the MHA reminded state and UT administrations of their power and responsibility to undertake all necessary actions for the protection of people and property and to ensure the uninterrupted functioning of vital services during a hostile attack.
