Six Congress councillors disqualified for whip violation

As many as six Congress councillors from Chikballapur City Municipality were disqualified by Deputy Commissioner P N Ravindra for violating the party whip.
The orders were passed following a complaint filed by Chikballapur Congress district president Keshava Reddy and Ambareesh, who had unsuccessfully contested for the president's post.
The disqualified councillors are Rathnamma (ward no 2), Swathi (ward no 22), Ambika (ward no 24), Nethravathi (ward no 27), Sathish (ward no 7) and Nirmala (ward no 13).
