PVT VEHICLES STEP IN AFTER KSRTC STRIKE
August 06, 2025
|The New Indian Express Mysuru
PROTESTS by employees of the Karnataka State Road Transport Corporations (KSRTC) over various pending demands brought public transportation in Mysuru region to a near standstill, causing massive disruption to thousands of commuters.
The strike, which began early Tuesday, left bus terminals deserted across urban and rural pockets. However, private buses quickly filled the void.
The impact was most visible at the Mysuru Suburban bus stand, where the absence of KSRTC buses forced anxious passengers to turn to private bus operators who were allowed to use the KSRTC bus stand.
With hardly a handful of government buses operating, private buses began ferrying people to various destinations across the district and beyond. Depot authorities and several senior officials of KSRTC were seen coordinating with private operators to ensure at least temporary travel arrangements were made.
