Union Minister stresses need to uphold traditions, sanctity of Chamundi Hill
UNION Minister of State for Railways V Somanna assured that Mysuru would receive the same level of attention as Bengaluru when it comes to railway infrastructure.
Addressing newsmen here on Thursday, Somanna said Tumakuru, Bengaluru, and Mysuru would be treated as two sides of the same coin in terms of development, with the Central government extending full grants for speedy execution of railway projects.
Turning his focus to the upcoming Dasara festivities and controversy surrounding it, Somanna stressed the need to uphold the traditions and sanctity of Chamundi Hill.
"Chamundi Hill is another name of faith, devotion, and history. Those chosen as inaugurators of Dasara should first be made aware of the history, rituals, and traditions associated with Goddess Chamundeshwari. Let them carry out their duty only after understanding these practices," he said.
