Govt school building collapses in Sakleshpur

A portion of a government primary school building collapsed due to heavy rain in Kadagaravalli village of Sakleshpur taluk on Tuesday.
Fortunately, no student was inside the classroom as the district administration had declared a holiday for three days due to continuous downpour since Monday. It could have been a major tragedy if holiday wasn't declared. Revenue officials visited the spot and took stock of the situation.
According to villagers, the school building was in a dilapidated condition and the authorities allegedly failed to take steps to repair the building. The block education officer visited the spot and directed the headmaster and staff to conduct the class in an adjacent building by taking precautionary measures.
