Andaman, Lakshadweep development a priority

UNION Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday asserted that development of infrastructure and increasing tourism in the Union Territories of Andaman and Nicobar (A&N) Islands and Lakshadweep has been a priority of the central government led by Prime Minister Modi.

Shah made these remarks while chairing a meeting of the Islands Development Agency (IDA) and further noted that the Centre's aim is to build better infrastructure while preserving the culture and heritage of these islands.

During the meeting, Shah reviewed the progress of the ongoing developmental and infrastructure initiatives in A&N and Lakshadweep, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) said in an official release. "Development of infrastructure and increasing tourism facilities in the region is the priority of the government," the release said quoting Amit Shah.
