KARNATAKA School Education and Literacy Minister Madhu Bangarappa has said that initiatives such as the three-annual exam system, in which failed students are allowed to appear for supplementary exams and passed students are given another opportunity for improvement, are yielding good results. SSLC and PUC students are reaping the advantages of this initiative.
Addressing the media in Shivamogga on Monday, Madhu said that 93% of failed PU students have applied for supplementary exams and over 79,000 PUC students have applied for improvement. This number was 36,000 last year. As many as 64,600 SSLC students have already registered for the second round of exams, and there is time for further registration. The new three-exam system has seen notable success, he said.
