Unburden me from Akrama Sakrama duty: BJP MLA

RAJESH Naik U, BJP MLA from Bantwal constituency, on Monday urged the government to relieve him from the responsibility of heading the Akrama Sakrama Committee in his constituency citing undue pressure from his constituents.

At the KDP meeting, Naik said the responsibility of heading the Akrama Sakrama Committee should rest with the Assistant Commissioner or the tahsildar as MLAs are burdened with a lot of other duties. "The signing authority should be officials and not MLAs. We are under pressure and we are burdened with other duties," he said.
