Suspicious parcels will be tracked to curb drug peddling, assures SP

WITH increasing concern over school and college students falling prey to drug addiction, Deputy Commissioner Darshan H V has directed officials to intensify awareness campaigns to alert students about the long-term consequences of substance abuse.

Presiding over a meeting of the District-level Committee of the Narco Coordination Centre held at the DC's office on Thursday, the Deputy Commissioner emphasised the growing attraction of drugs among students and the urgent need to sensitise them through awareness programmes. He instructed the DDPU and DDPI to collect and share information about students who do not participate in such awareness initiatives.
