Beneficiaries can get subsidies up to ₹30,000 for 1 kW, ₹60,000 for 2 kW solar panels
UDUPI-Chikkamagalur MP Kota Srinivas Poojary asked the officials to implement the Surya Ghar Yojana effectively as the scheme aims at reducing the electricity bill of the residents who opt for installing the solar panel on the roof of their houses.
Speaking at a workshop organised to create awareness on the Yojana and distribute subsidies to the beneficiaries at the DC's office here on Saturday, Kota said if the priority is accorded by the officials to those households which have no electricity connection as yet, then the scheme will be more successful. Local authorities and the gram panchayats should disseminate the information about the scheme to the general public, he said.
