HC orders opening of seized glass bridge

THE High Court has permitted the maintenance of the glass bridge near K Nidugane Panchayat office which was shut by the district administration citing safety concerns.

While the final judgment is still pending, the court has enabled maintenance work at the site following the request from the petitioners.

Several glass bridges have mushroomed across the district, raising concern over the safety regulations. During monsoon last year, one of the glass bridge sites had recorded a minor landslide. Following investigations, the newly established glass bridge at K Nidugane gram panchayat limits was locked by the district administration as the owners of the glass bridge had not followed the safety protocols.
