Historical Museum to Be Set Up in Kappad

A HISTORICAL museum is set to come up on the shores of Kappad, which became a part of world history when Portuguese sailor Vasco da Gama first set foot there in 1498.
The state budget has allocated Rs 10 crore for the initial work of establishing a museum on this coastal spot located in Chemancherry panchayat in Kozhikode district. The Chemancherry panchayat president said that 50 cents of land is required to build the museum and a private land adjacent to the Kannankadavu estuary has been identified for this purpose.
