SRI SATHYA SAI BABA BIRTH CENTENARY
-
AS DEVOTEES of Sri Sathya Sai Baba from around the globe celebrate his birth centenary, the great spiritual leader's profound teaching, 'Love All, Serve All,' still remains as relevant as ever.
These four words contain an edifying philosophy that transcends all barriers and invites mankind to strive for unity, compassion, and selfless action. In fact, the life of Sathya Sai Baba was in itself 'love in action'. It translated into selfless service of mankind in diverse ways, and it still continues with the same vigour
Sathya Sai Baba was no ordinary spiritual leader. Firmly anchored to spirituality, he preached the importance of (seva) or selfless service as extolled by the Gita. His life itself was a testament to his humanitarian service. From his abode in Puttaparthi in Andhra Pradesh, he inspired a movement that spanned continents and translated spirituality into the service of mankind in diverse forms. Several initiatives were started, and they were all aimed at altering the lives of millions. From super-specialty hospitals offering free treatment to educational institutions where value-based learning is imparted free of charge and potable water projects for drought-hit villages, Sai Baba showed that service to humanity is the best worship for the Almighty.
