Proudly claims the title of being the country's first 'constitutionally-literate' panchayat
PEOPLE of Chirakkadavu village in Kottayam district are often met with a teasing question when they venture outside of their place - "Are you from Kothazham (a place of fools)?"
Similarly, when someone makes a mistake, it is common to hear the Malayalam phrase "Thaan ethu Kothazhathukaaran aanu?" (Are you from the land of fools). However, Chirakkadavu, nicknamed Kothazham, can now proudly claim the title of being country's first 'constitutionally-literate' panchayat.
