Despite allocation of Rs 2 cr by dist admn & two panchayats, facility remains nonfunctional
THE LONG-awaited paddy processing centre at Sooranad, conceived 16 years ago, remains unfinished and unused. Though the project began in 2009 with the purchase of 1.4 acres of land, construction only started in 2016. Despite an allocation of ₹2 crore—funded by the district administration and Sooranad North and South panchayats—the facility remains nonfunctional.
A 6,000 sqft building was completed, featuring designated rooms for packaging and food storage.
