THE Gujarat Income Tax Department on Wednesday carried out a massive crackdown in over 24 locations in Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, Surat, Vadodara, Rajkot, and Junagadh, targetting small political parties suspected of laundering black money through fake political donations.
The main focus of the raids was Bharatiya National Janata Dal chief Sanjay Vitthalbhai Gajera, whose residence, office, and his driver Ronak Singh’s home were searched early in the morning. Officials seized documents, digital data, and details of all assets.
